Love this book. It's a little bit of a long read though. This (in conjunction with Crucial Conversations, the predecessor to this book) saved my family life. I used to be a jerk but now I'm almost tolerable. These people taught me how to converse without interrogating, how to provide opinions without being bossy, and how to influence without being pushy. Seriously--the concepts here changed my life. This one is GREAT for managers because it teaches how to deal with co-workers and subordinates who don't follow through on commitments. Really loved the first couple chapters. Although it seemed too many at times having examples of both work and personal issues helped to frame the concepts well. For me it seemed this book lost a little horsepower after the first few chapters. The concept of accountability comes from an authoritarian view rather than one of mutual benefit. I wish a few more chapters could have been written on personal accountability as I think one needs to master this before attempting to hold others accountable.Good read overall. I would recommend.
